My First Week At Our New School

Friday 22 November
This week has gone good so far! I really enjoy working in an open space, I find it really helpful. Despite all the noise, it helps me to use my initiative. My highlight this week was kiwisport. We played chain tag. We learned to stick together and work together as a team. I don't have any lowlights about this week, this week was great! I'm hoping to end off the year like this.

Narrative.

The Handsome Lonely Prince

There was a handsome prince who lived in the woods. Sadly for him, his parents were
eaten by a monster with googly eyes. He went out for a walk, then a wicked witch
appeared out of nowhere and said. “You do know this a haunted forest?”
Then she cackled with an evil laugh.

The Handsome prince ran away, and at last, he got away from her.
He was walking along a beautiful pond, he came across a frog that was so slimy and
warty. He felt something was wrong. Then he’d realized the frog speaks! He stared at
the frog like a possum in shock. The frog said. “You look so lonely, come, come, come
with me.” The handsome prince followed.

They arrived at their destination. The prince was very confused. The frog said “Here you
go my princess, I've found a handsome prince that is lonely. He may be the perfect
match.” The princess looked at the prince. Then set her eyes on the frog “I’m sorry
clover, I don’t think this ‘love at first sight’ works. Maybe we could talk and I’ll alert you
when I think he’s perfect”.

A few days later, the prince and princess met up and they talked. The princess asked
him “so, what’s the story with your parents?”. This triggered the prince and he felt so
bitter. “it’s a long story, maybe we can talk about this tomorrow” the prince said.

The next day, the prince woke up in a weird, filthy place. It smelled disgusting!
The floor was damp and he was covered in dirt. It was so dark. He started to panic and
tried standing but he was tied up in ropes.

Suddenly someone slowly opened the door. The prince was struggling to see.
She came into the beam of light shining through the broken window. And the prince
clicked! It was the princess! He was so confused. “P-p-princess? Is that you?” he asked
confusedly. The princess stroked his hair. “Do not worry my love, it’ll all be okay”.
The prince tried to wiggle his way out of the firm ropes. “Why are you doing this?”
the prince asked. But the princess turned her back on him and walked out. “PRINCESS!!
ANSWER ME! COME BACK!” the prince shouted.

He heard a car engine start. He was worried and confused not knowing what to do!
So he continued to try and wiggle out of the ropes. He managed to get out of the
ropes. He tried to open the door, but it didn't work. So the prince climbed out through
the tiny window. He was contemplating to do it or not. So he thought to himself,
“it’s either this window or trap yourself in here”. So the prince climbed out the tiny
window. He climbed through and ended up with cuts and bruises.
He limped his way back to his castle and never saw the princess again.

100 Words Challenge.

Tuesday 11 June

Task:
Speak from the dogs perspective or the owner.

Prompt:

The best thing to wake up to! Every morning, as I yawn, my owner gently tickles through my
ears and cheeks. She knows how much I love it but tends to tease me with it!
I dislike it when she does that.

She’s the best owner there is! I dislike it when she storms through the door after a bad day.
It makes me sad, I don’t know what to do at most times. So I just try my best to cheer her up in
whatever way I can. She sometimes takes me to work! Her friends really like me, I can tell.
Her job is SOOOOO boring! The only reason I go is so I can steal her friends donuts.
They always wonder who takes it. Sometimes my owner just feeds me a donut.
I really want her to get a boyfriend. She really likes this boy at work. I like teasing her about it.
She’s always talking about him but never has the guts to talk to him!
I just ignore her whenever she talks about him. She doesn’t point to me who it is when
I’m at work with her, because she knows that I’ll do something about it. But it’s whatever.

The importance of being in a Catholic school

Attending a Catholic school is very important. There are several reasons why it’s important such as nurturing our faith in God, learning about the way Jesus lived and many more!

One important thing about attending a Catholic school, is praying. Our school gathers together at the start of every week to pray together as a whole school. We come together as a family praying for a good week ahead of us.
On other days, we pray in our own class every morning. We have a set routine on how we pray each day.  We have different types of prayers for each day.The students are taught to lead the prayer. We have groups organised to lead the pray every week.
My class attends mass almost every Friday and receive a blessing or The Body of Christ.

Another important thing about attending a catholic school, is celebrating catholic events e.g; Christmas, Easter, Feast days and several more. We celebrate it by coming together and doing a liturgy, or by having concerts to perform.
For example, every year we celebrate the Feast day of St Pius. We celebrate it by having a mass. The staff also provides a cake for the school celebrating St Pius’ feast day. There are many, many, many events that we celebrate differently!

I think the most important thing about being apart of a catholic school, is learning the ways that Jesus lived his life. On a daily basis, we’re educated about religious things that Jesus did. Religious Education is an extra subject for all Catholic schools. We have resources that help us e.g; Bibles, Netbooks (used for research) and many more. We learn about the miracles Jesus performed, the way he was raised and what he did to spread his Faith. We also sometimes reenact scenes from the bible. For example, the Stations of the Cross. Every year, we have a liturgy reenacting the original 8 stations.

It’s immensely important to attend a Catholic. Being apart of a Catholic school makes school more interesting. It teaches us about the religious life of Jesus and influences us to become better people for the world.

Dearest Baby Marcus,
I hope you’re doing okay.
It sucks because when you left, you weren’t even halfway to a year!
I can’t believe you’re almost 6 months! I adore you so much, but please stop growing!
I’m missing out on so much. You’re so big now.
Your mum told me that you’re able to do things on your own. I cried tears of joy.
I hope mum and dad are showering you with so much love and care.
May God bring many, many, many blessing upon you and your parents.
You deserve the world! Take good care of yourself and stop shouting all the time.
I love you so much.

100 Words Challenge.

On a bright and colorful morning, I decided to make use of my Dad’s old and rusty bike hidden in the back of the garage.

I wasn’t too quite confident just taking it out and casually riding it. So I thought I’d give it a little bit of a fix.

I searched around the garage for spray paint and a few tools. I found Dad’s old toolbox and my old set of spray painters.

I looked at the bike and thought about the design. I looked at the wheels and noticed they were flat and that the brakes were broken. So I managed to pump the wheels and asked Dad for help to fix the brakes. It looked a little exceptional. I took the spray painters and casually sprayed whatever I could to cover up the previous and rusty black paint. I tried to make it look like it was naturally colorful. But it was just a mess, it looked a little exceptional.

I took it outside and gave it a test just to the store and back. On my way, the path got a little rocky, but I managed to push through. It was surprisingly greater than I expected! So I decided to carry on my ride and rode down to the Mission Bay beach.

I arrived and the sun still wasn’t seen, and the sky was looked a little grey along with so many puffy clouds. I waited a few minutes and sun rays started shining through the thick and milky clouds. The sun colors faded from color to color. There was a bit of a faded yellow beginning the diagram. The color then leads on to a blazing orange includes itself. It fades to a bright and outstanding purple. It doesn’t stop there! An overpowering violet suddenly catches my attention! It ends with a beautiful sky covered with many, bright and white clouds.
It was one of the most beautiful sunrises’ I’ve ever seen!
