The importance of being in a Catholic school

Attending a Catholic school is very important. There are several reasons why it’s important such as nurturing our faith in God, learning about the way Jesus lived and many more!

One important thing about attending a Catholic school, is praying. Our school gathers together at the start of every week to pray together as a whole school. We come together as a family praying for a good week ahead of us.
On other days, we pray in our own class every morning. We have a set routine on how we pray each day.  We have different types of prayers for each day.The students are taught to lead the prayer. We have groups organised to lead the pray every week.
My class attends mass almost every Friday and receive a blessing or The Body of Christ.

Another important thing about attending a catholic school, is celebrating catholic events e.g; Christmas, Easter, Feast days and several more. We celebrate it by coming together and doing a liturgy, or by having concerts to perform.
For example, every year we celebrate the Feast day of St Pius. We celebrate it by having a mass. The staff also provides a cake for the school celebrating St Pius’ feast day. There are many, many, many events that we celebrate differently!

I think the most important thing about being apart of a catholic school, is learning the ways that Jesus lived his life. On a daily basis, we’re educated about religious things that Jesus did. Religious Education is an extra subject for all Catholic schools. We have resources that help us e.g; Bibles, Netbooks (used for research) and many more. We learn about the miracles Jesus performed, the way he was raised and what he did to spread his Faith. We also sometimes reenact scenes from the bible. For example, the Stations of the Cross. Every year, we have a liturgy reenacting the original 8 stations.

It’s immensely important to attend a Catholic. Being apart of a Catholic school makes school more interesting. It teaches us about the religious life of Jesus and influences us to become better people for the world.
